South Bend, Ind. - The No.3 seeded Georgetown University women's lacrosse dropped its NCAA Quarterfinal game at sixth-seeded Notre Dame, 12-9 on Saturday at Krause Stadium. The Hoyas led 8-7 with 17:10 to go in regulation however the Irish scored four straight goals over a span of 3:31 to take an 11-8 lead. ND was able to control the possession for the remainder of the game and heads to their first Final Four.

Junior Coco Stanwick (Baltimore, Md./Notre Dame Prep) and Schuyler Sutton (Annapolis, Md./Severn School) each netted three goals for the Hoyas while Maggie Koch (Philadelphia, Pa./Springside School) made eight saves in the goal. Senior Stephanie Zodtner (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) caused three turnovers and scooped a team-high three ground balls for GU.

Notre Dame's trio of Crysti Foote, Jill Byers and Caitlin McKinney combined for nine goals, three apiece, and six assists. The Irish held a 13-11 advantage in draw controls, including seven of the 11 draws in the second half. Shannon Burke and Kaki Orr recorded four draws apiece.

"We give them (ND) a lot of credit, they played hard and executed on the offensive end," said Georgetown Head Coach Ricky Fried. "Their scoring trio did what they needed to do. I'm proud of our team and what they accomplished this season. I'm even more proud of what this senior class has accomplished."
