Mike Calabretta, entering his third season on the Georgetown staff, brings a wide range of coaching experience to the Hoyas' program.

Calabretta, who holds licenses from both the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) and National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), has been involved at the club level since 2000.

Working in both the Bethesda Soccer Club and Reston Football Club, Calabretta established himself early on as one of the area's prominent young coaches. In his first two years he collected a record of 81-17-10 highlighted by a European Championship in the world's third largest youth tournament.

In 2003, Calabretta helped start the girls program at Reston Football Club, which rapidly emerged as one of the best in the nation. By 2005, RFC was ranked as the #1 club in Virginia and #4 in Region I.

During that time, Calabretta led his RFC Rovers team to a state cup championship title and a top twenty-five national ranking. Currently, he coaches the U-18 RFC United. His teams have enjoyed outstanding records of success and have been consistently ranked among the top club teams in the country.

Calabretta has also been involved with the Maryland Olympic Development program serving as a staff coach on the boys side from 1999-2000. At both the ODP and club levels, he has helped to develop players for the U.S. Youth National and Regional teams.

In 2001, Calabretta took over as the Director of Player Development for the Maryland SoccerPlex in Germantown, MD, a position he held for two and a half years while also working as the Director of Sales and Sponsorships for the Maryland Soccer Foundation. He served as a member of the operations committee for the 2002 and 2003 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships.

In addition to his college and club coaching experience, Calabretta coached at the Georgetown Preparatory School in 2004.

Calabretta holds a bachelor's degree in Engineering Management from the University of Maryland.
