Sept. 15, 2006 Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's soccer team began the 2006 BIG EAST schedule with a 2-0 loss at Villanova on Friday at Reeves Field. The Hoyas snap a four game unbeaten streak and fall to 3-2-3 overall and 0-1-0 in the league. The Wildcats continue its best start in program history at 8-0-0. After a scoreless first 27:45, the Wildcats opened up the scoring with two goals, both scored by Nikki Mabery, over the next 3:05. Mabery buried the first goal on a rebound off the hands of Hoya goalkeeper Jade Higgins (Island Park, N.Y./West Hempstead) and put home the second on a failed clear on a Wildcat corner kick. The first goal snapped a stretch of 325:01 minutes in which Georgetown had not allowed a goal. After being out-shot 6-1 in the first half, the Hoyas had more opportunities in the second frame as fired five shots, including two on goal. The Wildcats also held the edge in corner kicks, 7-3. The Hoyas return home on Sunday, September 17 for a regional contest against James Madison at 1 p.m.
