Oct. 12, 2007 Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's soccer team (9-4-0, 2-3-0) fell on the road this evening at No. 25 Notre Dame (8-4-1, 6-0-0 BE), 3-0. The National Runners-Up from last season extended their BIG EAST conference unbeaten streak to 30 games as they received two goals from Brittany Bock and out-shot the Hoyas for the game, 18-1. Georgetown had the first good scoring opportunity of the game in the ninth minute, but a shot from senior Sara Jordan (Indianapolis, Ind./North Central) went wide of Notre Dame goalkeeper Lauren Karas. The scoring opportunity for Jordan was the only shot of the game for the Blue and Gray. Notre Dame took eight shots in the first half and got on the scoreboard in the 25th minute after Brittany Bock headed in a flip-throw from Michelle Weissenhofer to put the Fighting Irish ahead, 1-0. In the second half, Courtney Rosen took a pass from Susan Pinnick and delivered a shot from the far left side that got past DesJardin for a 2-0 ND lead. Erica Iantorno setup Bock for her second goal of the game in the 68th minute for the final score. Hoya freshman goalkeeper Jackie DesJardin (Sunnyvale, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) made six saves in goal while ND's Karas didn't have to make a stop. The Hoyas are now 1-13-0 all-time against Notre Dame with the lone Hoya win coming in 2002 on North Kehoe Field. ND has now won all eight meetings on their home field by a combined score of 49-2. The Hoyas will complete a five-game conference road trip on Sunday when they visit DePaul. The game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start at Wish Field.
