Hoya Women's Soccer Suffers Setback at West Virginia, Loses 3-0

Washington, D.C. - Georgetown fell to No. 7 West Virginia today in Morgantown, 3-0. Deana Everrett scored twice in the contest and added an assist for WVU. The Hoyas fall to 4-8-5 on the season, 1-6-2 in the BIG EAST. Meanwhile, the seventh-ranked Mountaineers improve to 13-1-2 on the year and 7-1-1 in conference play.

The Mountaineers struck in the seventh minute when Kim Bonilla scored her eighth goal of the season to put WVU ahead, 1-0. Then in the 14th minute, Deana Everrett scored the first of her two goals, the second coming almost eight minutes into the second half. Everrett leads the BIG EAST this season in goals scored, and the two today raise her total on the year to 16.

The Hoyas managed three shots in the game, one apiece from seniors Alexandra Hardy (Lakewood, CA/Long Beach Poly), Shante Cofield (Summit, N.J./Summit), and Christine Araps (Belle Meade, N.J./Montgomery).

Georgetown looks to bounce back on Friday, October 20, when they host BIG EAST foe DePaul (3-11-2, 0-8-1), at 3 p.m. on North Kehoe Field.
