Washington, D.C. - Georgetown University sophomore goalkeeper Jackie DesJardin (Sunnyvale, Calif./Archbishop Mitty) was named the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week and freshman forward Samantha Baker (Long Beach, Calif./Wilson) was named to the Weekly Honor Roll for their performances last week. The Hoyas went 3-0-0 and did not allow a goal in consecutive wins that wrapped up a first-round bye and a home game in the BIG EAST Championship Quarterfinals. DesJardin totaled 15 saves in a perfect week for the Hoyas, who wrapped up a No. 2 seed in the conference tournament, the highest seed the Hoyas have ever earned. The sophomore held three teams scoreless last week in a trio of 1-0 victories as GU knocked off St. John's at home on Tuesday, October 21 and won at Louisville on Friday, October 24 and at Cincinnati on Sunday, October 26. She also recently broke her own single-season shutout record (nine) and is in second place all-time with 16. This is her first BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honor. DesJardin is the first Georgetown player to earn BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors since Jade Higgins won it on September 19, 2005. Baker currently leads the Hoyas in assists and points while ranking second on the squad in goals. On the single-season top-10 lists, she is tied for fourth in goals scored with eight, third in assists with 10 and tied for first in points with 26. She earned points on each of the game-winning plays from the previous week with assists against St. John's and Cincinnati and the lone goal at Louisville.
