Georgetown Swimming and Diving Competes in ECAC Championships

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Georgetown swimming and diving sent 19 athletes to the University of Pittsburgh to compete in the ECAC Championships this weekend, placing 16th on the men’s side and 22nd in the women’s draw out of 30 schools. 

Bryan Evangelista (Northport, N.Y./St. Anthony’s) posted the best Georgetown finish with a seventh place touch in the 100 Free.  Two Hoyas pulled off 13th place finishes, as Colleen Newman (Staten Island, N.Y./Notre Dame) and Jon Hayden (Woodbridge, Va./Osbourn Park) placed in the 1650 Free.

Evangelista also bettered his personal best for the third time in four years, placing 7th in the 100 Fly preliminiary finals. 

The Georgetown men’s 400 Freestyle relay team placed 11th out of 16 schools.

Juliana Bonilla (West Covina, Calif./Covina) finished 7th on the Three Meter board and will move on to the NCAA Division I prequalification meet in Buffalo, N.Y. on March 14th and 15th.
