Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to BIG EAST Conference opponent Pittsburgh at the Army-Navy Country Club in Arlington, Va. on Sunday afternoon. The Hoyas are now 1-5 for the spring season with a 0-1 slate in league play.

With the first doubles match going to the Panthers, the duo of sophomore Courtney Olsen (Englewood, Colo./Colorado Academy) and junior Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) leveled the doubles action at one match apiece with an 8-6 win at the second doubles position. Unfortunately, the Panthers would win the final doubles match to gain the 1-0 edge leading into singles play.

Pittsburgh worked off the momentum created in the doubles action and won five of six singles matches for the victory. Cohen was the lone singles winner for the Blue and Gray as she took a straight-set decision over Pittsburgh's Leah Friedman.

The Hoyas return to the court on Friday, February 16 when they host BIG EAST opponent Seton Hall at the Army-Navy Country Club. The match is slated for 6 p.m. In last year's clash, the Pirates took a 6-1 decision over Georgetown in South Orange, N.J.
