Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown women's tennis team dropped two matches over the weekend with a 6-0 loss at Old Dominion on Friday and a 4-2 home loss to Rutgers in its BIG EAST Conference opener on Sunday. The Hoyas now have an overall record of 2-11 and 0-3 in the BIG EAST Conference. Due to time constraints in both matches, the doubles matches were not played as it was deemed unnecessary. Trailing 1-0 against Rutgers, victories from juniors Liz Winokur (West Palm Beach, Fla./Cardinal Newman) and Stephanie Cohen (Fayetteville, N.Y./DeWitt) gave the Hoyas a 2-1 lead. However, three-straight losses at the fourth, fifth and sixth spots clinched the match for the Scarlet Knights. The Monarchs had a clean six-match sweep in singles action to clinch the victory. The Hoyas return to action on Wednesday, March 25 when they host Mount St. Mary's in non-league action at McDonough Tennis Complex. The match is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Old Dominion 6, Georgetown 0
