Hoyas Sweep JMU Open Cross Country Meet

Washington, D.C. - The Georgetown University cross country teams swept the team titles at the JMU Open Cross Country Meet on Saturday morning at the New Market Battlefield. The men's squad totaled 22 points, while the women's team had 25, edging host James Madison by six.

Freshman T.C. Lumbar (Edina, Minn./Edina) was the men's top finisher, placing second with a time of 25:42.3. Lumbar was followed closely by junior Michael Krisch (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins) in 25:42.7 and redshirt junior Justin Scheid (Sparta, N.J./Pope John XXII) in 25:43.0.

On the women's side, redshirt sophomore Kailin Collins (Mansfield, Mass./Mansfield) also placed second, finishing in 19:40.7. Sophomores Renee Tomlin (Ocean City, N.J./Ocean City) and Kelsey Malmquist (Williston Park, N.Y./Kellenberg Memorial) rounded out the top-five with times of 19:45.3 and 19:46.2, respectively.

The Hoyas return to competition on Saturday, September 29 at the Colonial Inter-Regional Challenge, hosted by William & Mary.
