New York, N.Y. – The Georgetown University women’s indoor track & field team paid a visit to the Big Apple to compete in the Armory Invitational on Friday-Saturday, February 14-15. Two Hoyas qualified provisionally for the NCAA Championship at the prestigious meet. Senior Erin Sicher (College Park, Md./Good Counsel) ran to a fifth-place finish in the mile run of Section 2. Sicher clocked an NCAA provisional qualifying time of 4:45.17. Sophomore Jodee Adams-Moore (Bellvue, Wash./Newport) was seventh in 4:49.37, also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark. The winner of the race was Hilary Edmonson of Wisconsin (4:52.42). Freshman Sabine Knothe (Dortmund, Germany/Mallinckrodt Gymnasium) earned a fifth-place finish with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 4:59.24 in Section 1. Linsey Blaisdell won Section 1 of the mile in 4:52.42. Junior Kori Hamilton (Glendora, Calif./St. Lucy’s Priory) and freshman Meghan O’Neil (Phoenixville, Pa./Spring Ford) ran one-two in Section 1 of the 800-meter run. Hamilton won the race in 2:13.17, while O’Neil turned in a time of 2:17.71. Both women qualified for ECAC competition. Junior Colleen Kelly (Maple Glen, Pa./Mt. St. Joseph’s Academy) placed fourth in Section 1 of the 3000-meter run. Kelly crossed the finish line in 9:39.91. Bethany Browser of Wisconsin was the victor in 9:25.28. The Hoyas’ 4 x 800-meter relay team cruised to victory in the race with a 9:00.86 mark. Rutgers was second in 9:01.08, while St. Joseph’s was third in 9:01.36. GU’s distance medley relay (DMR) crossed the finish line in 11:14.95 to add a third-place finish to the Hoya totals. The winner was North Carolina in 11:08.56. Villanova was second in 11:14.13.
