WASHINGTON, D.C. - WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Georgetown University volleyball team will host its annual Blue and Gray Tournament on Saturday, March 29 at McDonough Arena beginning at 10 a.m. This year the Blue and Gray Tournament field will include, American, George Mason, George Washington, William & Mary and the host Hoyas. All matches in the Blue & Gray Tournament are two games to 25 points, with a 15-point deciding game, if necessary. There will be not tie-breaking procedures, as play will conclude after the last match of the Blue & Gray Tournament. The young Hoyas squad began spring practice on Monday, March 10, under the guidance of second year head coach Arlisa Hagan Williams. GU features six freshmen and sophomores on an eight-player squad that finished the 2007 fall season 5-27. Junior Caitlin Boland (Naperville, Ill./Benet Academy) has emerged as one of the top setters in Hoya history, moving into third place all-time with 2,214 career assists. Boland led GU with 922 assists during the fall season. Sophomore Jessica Hardy (Manhattan Beach, Calif./Mira Costa) finished second with 253 kills during the fall season, averaging 2.3 per game. Junior Katherine Niesen (Gainesville, Fla./Eastside) finished third with 215 kills, averaging just under two per game.
